1. How to transport firearms and ammunition?

Transport is only allowed with a need to transport the firearm i.e. to the shooting range.
Firearms must be transported unloaded, with no ammunition present in either the chamber or the inserted magazine.
Firearms must be transported in such a way as to not be accessible in three or fewer steps. Transporting firearms in a locked container is sufficient to meet this requirement and thus highly recommended.

Ammunition may be transported separately from firearms by any means, including loaded magazines, as long as no loaded magazine or cartridges are inserted into the firearm. Ammunition is to be transported in such a way as to ensure only you have access to it. Transporting it in a locked container is recommended.

2. How to store firearms and ammunition in a hotel/apartment/camper?

While not at a permanent residence, reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent loss or unauthorized use of firearms and ammunition. Firearms and ammo must be stored in any locked container. It is recommended to remove an essential component (e.g., bolt, barrel or slide) and and to store it separately. This piece can be carried on person or locked away. Firearms and ammunition may be left temporarily in a car, as long as measures are taken to prevent unauthorized access.
